Diana Kaiser Bulger

Diana Kaiser BulgerDiana Bulger, director of public relations for The Fairmont Washington, DC, is a 25-year veteran of hospitality industry. She joined the Fairmont in September of 2003. Since then, she has created an annual Fashion Show for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, held a fundraiser for the Washington Animal Rescue League, created partnerships with the World Wildlife Fund and Francis Jr. High School. She also formed an alliance for the hotel with Guiding Eyes for the Blind, creating a program that assisted with the training of two puppies as future guide dogs. She serves as the Eco-Chair of the Fairmont’s environmental committee.

Prior to joining the Fairmont, she was the vice president of Hisaoka Public Relations and oversaw several hospitality related clients, and was responsible for the opening public relations efforts for five Kimpton Hotels including the Hotel Monaco. She also oversaw Public Relations Efforts for many events including DC Filmfest.

Previously she was the owner and president of Kaiser Communications, a hotel, restaurant, community relations, event planning and public relations company. During that time, she handled media relations for the Phoenix Park Hotel, the 75th Anniversary of the Mayflower Hotel, the grand opening of the Monarch Hotel, and the 50th Anniversary of the Korean War in conjunction with PGI Washington, Inc.
 
Previously, Bulger was the regional director of public relations for Loews L’Enfant Plaza Hotel in Washington, DC and Loews Annapolis Hotel in Annapolis, Maryland from 1990 to 1998. She orchestrated “Monopoly Power Breakfasts” in conjunction with Parker Bros. to benefit the American Society of Association Executives, and the Greater Washington Society of Associations Executives’ Foundations.  She also served as the spokesperson for both properties and was a member of the Washington Convention and Visitors Association’s public relations committee. At that time, she initiated a citywide media FAM trip that resulted in numerous positive articles on hotels, restaurants and Washington, DC as a destination. The media FAM became a yearly event. Bulger began her public relations career at the Vista International Hotel as the assistant public relations manager.  In 1987 she became the Director of public relations for the Hotel Washington.

An animal lover, Bulger founded the Bark Ball in 1988 for the (WHS), The Washington Humane Society, a black-tie ball benefiting homeless and abused animals in the nation’s capital.  She served on the WHS board of directors from 1988 – 1998.  She also founded the Halloween Howl, a fundraiser for People Animals Love in 1999.

Bulger is a member in good standing of Destination DC. has penned columns for the Greater Washington Association Executives Magazine Executive Update and Potomac Life Magazine.  She attended Oldfields School in Glencoe, Maryland and Franklin College in Lugano, Switzerland.  She resides in Washington, DC with her Husband Thomas J. Bulger
