Important Information for Aetna Open Access® HMO Plan Members (DC Plans Only)

Wednesday, January 15, 2014

If your current health insurance is Aetna’s Open Access® HMO Plan and your coverage is through the District of Columbia Government, within the last two weeks, you should have received a notice from Aetna regarding changes to the plan in the mail. Specifically, the plan is now changing its name to Aetna Health Network OnlySM.

You will be mailed a new ID card within the next two weeks, and on the front of the card, you will notice that your new ID card will have a new member number beginning with a ‘W’ and a new health plan name and the group number. The Member Services phone number and claims mailing address will continue to be on the back of on your new ID card.

Along with those new changes to your card, in the future, your Explanation of Benefits (EOB) will also have a new look, making it easier to understand your claim activity.

If you have any questions about the new changes, do not receive your new card by the end of January, or require immediate assistance regarding your health coverage, please directly contact Aetna by using the phone number on your current ID card or log into their secure member website, Aetna Navigator®, at www.aetna.com  and click on the ‘Contact’ link at the top of the page.
