FEDERAL HEALTH PLANS

If you are a Federal annuitant or retiree (hired prior to October 1, 1987), each year in early November, DCRB sends you instructions for making Open Enrollment changes. INFORMATION FOR MEDICARE ELIGIBLE RETIREES

Please note that once a retiree, spouse, or domestic partner reaches age 65, he/she may want to apply for Medicare Part A and B as soon as they become eligible because the healthcare provider becomes the secondary payer for them. He/she may also incur a penalty of 10% of premium per year for not signing up for Medicare, Part B, when first eligible to do so.
