The 2014 Active Police Officer Representative Elections to the Board of Trustees Has Commenced

The D.C. Retirement Board (DCRB) has commenced the 2014 Election for an Active Police Officer representative. The election schedule is as follows:

Nomination of Candidate for Trustee form mailed

August 19, 2014

Nomination of Candidate for Trustee form to be received

September 8, 2014

Drawing of Lots (Placement on Ballot) Candidates ONLY

October 1, 2014

Ballots Mailed

October 16, 2014

Deadline for ballots to be returned and last day to vote via telephone

November 17, 2014

Certification of Results

November 20, 2014

Result Published in the DC Register

November 28, 2014

Challenges to election filed with the Board

December 5, 2014

Election results are final

January 7, 2015

Trustee term begins

January 28, 2015

 

An Active Police Officer is defined in the DCRB election rules as follows:

 

*Active Police Officer- a sworn member or officer of the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) who is a participant in the program for Police and Firefighters’ Retirement and Disability. This does not include, Cadets, Senior Police Officers, or their survivors.

Active Police Officers can vote either by mail ballot or via telephone.
