Election for Retired Firefighter Representative to the District of Columbia Retirement Board Has Commenced

The District of Columbia Retirement Board (DCRB) has commenced an Election for the Retired Firefighter Trustee. The election schedule is as follows:

Notice of Election, Request for Nominations, and Statement of Candidacy Forms Mailed and Available

September 8, 2023

Statement of Candidacy Forms Due to Election Official by 5 pm ET

 October 6, 2023

Election Official Sends Eligibility or Ineligibility Letter to Stand for Election

October 16, 2023

Drawing of Lots for Placement on Election Ballot (may be attended by Candidates ONLY)

November 07, 2023

Election Ballots Mailed and Available, Voting Opens

November 16, 2023

Last Day to Submit Election Ballots to Election Official by 5 pm ET

December 15, 2023

Ballot Counting and Onsite Verification

December 18, 2023

Certification of Election Results by the Board

December 21, 2023*

Election Results Published in the DC Register

January 5, 2024*

Any Challenges to Election Must be Submitted in Writing to DCRB
by 5 pm ET

January 12, 2024*

Election Results are Final

A “Retired Firefighter” is defined in the DCRB Election Rules as follows:

A "retired firefighter" who has retired from FEMS under the provisions of the District of Columbia Police Officers and Firefighters' Retirement Plan ("Police Officers & Firefighters' Plan").
