The District of Columbia Retirement Board (“DCRB”) is seeking a Deputy Chief Benefits Officer—Quality, Compliance and Projects to provide general administrative direction and coordination of activities for the Agency’s Quality, Compliance, and Projects unit within the Benefits Department. Under the direction of the Pension Administrator, this position is responsible for coordinating with DCRB’s Legal department and Internal Auditor, to ensure that DCRB’s retirement-benefit payments are in compliance with all statutory requirements. The Deputy Chief Benefits Officer—Quality, Compliance and Projects also is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to the staff members of the Quality, Compliance and Projects unit, and will be responsible for leading the Benefits Department’s engagement efforts in the Benefits Administration Pension System (BAPS).

DCRB is responsible for the investment of funds and administration of retirement benefits for approximately 15,000 retirees and 10,000 members of the District of Columbia Teachers’ Retirement Plan and the District of Columbia Police Officers and Firefighters’ Retirement Plan (collectively “Plan members”).

The annualized full-time salary range for this position is $144,505-$230,760 DOQ (DCRB Grade 11), and this posting will remain open until close of business on Monday, September 28, 2026. For more information, see the position description attached below.
