The Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs) explain the major provisions of the District of Columbia Police Officers and Firefighters’ Retirement Plan and the District of Columbia Teachers’ Retirement Plan (the Plans). Each booklet is a comprehensive guide to your retirement plan, detailing its provisions and benefits. The information presented is based on current laws and regulations governing plan membership. As these laws and rules may change, updates to the information may be necessary. When changes occur, an SPD Update will be provided alongside the booklet, outlining the relevant modifications.
