PL 96-122, "District of Columbia Retirement Reform Act of 1979"

This law was enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress to establish an actuarially sound basis for financing retirement benefits for police officers, firefighters, teachers, and judges of the District of Columbia and to make certain changes in such benefits. The District of Columbia Retirement Board (DCRB) was created by Congress by this act to serve as an independent agency of the District of Columbia.
