Mary A. Collins serves as the Board’s elected Retired Teacher Trustee. She is the Chair of the Benefits Committee, and she also serves as a member of the Board’s Investments Committee. Trustee Collins represented the Active Teachers on the Board for 12 years (from 1997 until 2009), when she retired as an active teacher after 33 years with the District of Columbia Public School (DCPS) system. During that time on the Board, Trustee Collins served as Chair of the Board for three years from 2001 through 2003. She was elected as the Retired Teacher Trustee in 2013.
Trustee Collins served for five years on the Board of Directors of the Council of Institutional Investors, and was Chair of its Policy Committee for three years. She also served as Vice-Chair of the Executive Board for Mid-Atlantic Plan Sponsors.
Trustee Collins has a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and holds a Master’s degree in the Teaching of Mathematics.
Her current term expires on January 27, 2023.
