Denise Daniels is the elected Teacher Trustee to the District of Columbia Retirement Board of Trustees. She also serves as a member of the Investment and Benefits committees.

Dr. Daniels was elected as the Active Teacher Trustee in a special election, which was held in 2018, and she began serving on the Board in January 2019.  She has served DCPS as a School Psychologist for over 20 years, and has been a member of the Council of School Officers (CSO) and the Washington Teachers' Union (WTU) during different parts of her career.  She also served on the executive board of the WTU from 2011 to 2014, and advocated for the benefits of DCPS employees.  In addition, Dr. Daniels serves as the President of the DC Association of School Psychologists.

Dr. Daniels holds Doctorate and Master's degrees in Clinical Psychology from Loyola University of Chicago, and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with departmental honors from Spelman College.  She is licensed to practice as a School Psychologist in DC and Maryland, and has her license to practice as a Clinical Psychologist in the District of Columbia.

Ms. Daniels' term expires on January 27, 2021.
