Election for Active Police Officer Representative to the Board Has Commenced

The District of Columbia Retirement Board (DCRB) has commenced its Active Police Officer Election. The election schedule is as follows:

Notice of election and request for nominations, including statement of candidacy forms mailed/made available August 31, 2018
Statement of candidacy forms due to election official by 5 pm ET September 19, 2018
Drawing of lots for placement on election ballot (may be attended by Candidates or designated authorized representative) October 22, 2018
Election ballots mailed/online and telephone voting opens November 5, 2018
Last day to submit election ballots to election official (by 11:59pm ET) December 5, 2018
Election official tallies the ballots December 7, 2018
Certification of election results by the Board December 20, 2018
Election results published in the DC Register December 28, 2018
Any challenges to election may be filed with DCRB, in writing, by 5 pm ET January 27, 2019
Trustee term begins January 28, 2019

An Active Police Officer is defined in the DCRB Election Rules as follows:

Active Police Officer – ‘An "active police officer" who is a sworn member or officer of the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).’ This does not include their survivors and beneficiaries.

Active Police Officers may cast their ballots via regular postal mail, telephone, or online.
