Suspension of All Walk-In Services/Email Only Services Available

Monday, March 23, 2020

In December 2019, a new (or novel) human coronavirus COVID-19 emerged, impacting multiple countries and communities. It is unclear how easily this virus is spreading among people. Confirmed COVID-19 infection symptoms include: fever, cough, and shortness of breath, appearing anywhere from two to 14 days after exposure. At-risk populations include older members of the public, and those with pre-existing conditions, especially respiratory conditions and compromised immune systems. You can find additional information at https://coronavirus.dc.gov

There is no higher priority to District of Columbia Retirement Board (DCRB) than the safety of our members, staff, trustees, and partners. We are in close communication with the Mayor’s Office, as well as other DC government agencies and the federal government. DCRB is committed to staying on top of this evolving situation.

Through April 27, 2020, DCRB will not be servicing any walk-in members. If you attempt to visit our offices, you will not be allowed into DCRB. Please refer to this website for further updates.

The DCRB Member Services Center will be supporting the needs of our members remotely to prevent the potential spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the District of Columbia. While we may be unable to address your concerns in person or by phone, we will remain open and serve you through email and through our website updates. You can email us at [email protected] 24 hours a day 7 days per week. All emails will be addressed in the order they were received.

Additionally, please rest assured that if you are a current annuitant, your monthly benefit payments for April 1st, May 1st and beyond, will not be impacted and will continue as normal. If your benefit payments are issued through paper checks, we strongly encourage you to sign up for direct deposit by emailing our Member Services Center at [email protected] or fax us at (202) 566-5001.

Lastly, we appreciate your patience and trust in DCRB as we monitor this situation. Please continue to refer to our website, www.dcrb.dc.gov for future updates or visit Ask Member Services.

Thank you.
